Dharamshala, July 31: The man who died due to self immolation on Saturday near Lhagyal-Ri has been identified as Dhondup Denu, also known as Passang Dhondup, a wood painter at Norbulingka Institute. The 48-year old arrived in India in 1991 and had worked from 2012 as a wood painter at Norbulingka institute.

During the initial investigation at the spot of the self-immolation, the police found a red carry bag containing a piece of paper with a name ‘Nyima Gyalpo’ written on it and also a pair of key to his room. The mentioned name (Nyima Gyalpo) speaking to Tibetan media said that the deceased worked under him at Norbulingka's carpentry section. “He had taken a half day leave from work on Saturday and since had not returned. When we asked his landlord about his whereabouts to confirm the news, he confirmed that he had not seen him for the past two days,” said Nyima Gyalpo.

DHARAMSHALA, July 22: The Tibetan teen from Central University of Tibetan Studies who set himself ablaze for Tibet in Varanasi on July 14 has passed away around 4:50PM (IST) at Safdarjung Hospital today.

Tenzin Choeying, 19, from Dhondenling Tibetan settlement in Kollegal, was a student at the Central University of Tibetan Studies. He carried out the fiery act outside the men's hostel following a speech by Sikyong Lobsang Sangay on the campus on July 14. He was protesting China's illegal occupation of Tibet and their policies. Tenzin Choeying was a member of Tibetan Youth Congress chapter in Varanasi and a part of the Tibetan Youth Congress' volunteer crew during the 2017 Kalachakra in Bodh Gaya.

Il comitato della comunità tibetana in Italia decide di celebrare il compleanno di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama l’8 e 9 luglio 2017 a Pomaia presso l’Istituto Lama Tsongkhapa in concomitanza a tre giorni dedicati per il Tibet, e gli organizzatori delle giornate hanno invitato tutti i tibetani di partecipare alla festa e di offrire ospitalità per quale ringraziamo in anticipo da parte di tutti i tibetani.

Chiediamo tutti i soci di farci avere i nomi di partecipante in anticipo, indicando coniugi con figli/senza figli/ single per sistemazione alloggi.

Chiediamo inoltre l’arrivo di tutti il venerdì 7 luglio per la celebrazione del compleanno dalla mattinata di Sabato 8 luglio e la domenica mattina.  Il programma dettagliato sarà annunciato in accordo con i programmi di “Tibet Day” dell’Istituto Lama Tsongkhapa, Pomaia.

Chiedo anche gli artisti volontariosi di partecipare la manifestazione dimostrativa in pittura, scultura, canto, ballo, e cucinare piatti tipici tibetani ecc. durante il “Tibet Day”.

Aspettiamo numerosi a rendere la celebrazione con successo.
