Horgen Norbulinga strike gold in ETC 2011

The 3rd European Cup 2011 ended with the victory of Horgen Norbulinga FC who celebrates thier victory. They have celebrated thier truimph after battled with CTI FC in the final match but the host team too has a reason to celebrate for thier magnificient performance which qualifies them to reach to the final match. The organiser Tibetan Community Italy's contributions and vibrants participation from the participants will live in the memory as much for the spirit and smiles among the participants which will pass on for the years to come.

Kalon Tripa Speaks on Future of Tibetan Democracy and Politics PDF Stampa E-mail

DHARAMSALA, India: Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay today gave a key note address to the participants of the 5th conference on the importance of Tibetan cultural studies at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, near here.



He stated that the vibrant democracy that we have in our political system is the result of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's vision and efforts. He added that His Holiness has always strive from an early period of our exile years for a democratic system of polity. He also said that Tibetan democracy has come a long way since 2nd September 1960 when His Holiness introduced democracy in the Tibetan society. The flourishing democracy that we have in our political system is derived from the prevailing democratic values and principles in the world, he added.

Chen Quanguo, Tibet's new communist party chief in a file photo.DHARAMSHALA, August 28: In its latest white paper on sixty years of the so-called ‘peaceful liberation of Tibet’, China lauded the Tibetan people for creating “miracles.” But the communist party’s failure to find a Tibetan to head Tibet, again, is no miracle.

On August 25, the Communist Party of China announced the appointment of Chen Quanguo (55) as the new man in charge of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Quanguo, former governor of Hebei province replaces Zhang Qingli, the hard-line party secretary who was responsible for the violent suppression of the 2008 uprisings in Tibet.

Tibetan monk burns himself to death in eastern Tibet PDF Stampa E-mail

DHARAMSHALA, August, 15: Tsewang Norbu, a 29-year old Tibetan monk from Nyitso monastery in Kham Kardze, eastern Tibet died today after setting himself on fire to protest Chinese rule in Tibet.

At around 12.30 Tibetan local time, Tsewang Norbu started raising slogans at the Chume Bridge in the centre of Tawu, Kardze calling for freedom in Tibet and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet. Around 10 minutes later, Tsewang Norbu drank petrol, doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire.

Tsering Woeser, the Beijing based award winning Tibetan poet and blogger wrote on Twitter: “Tsewang threw free Tibet leaflets and shouted slogans, calling for a free Tibet and return of H.H. the Dalai Lama back to Tibet”.

Tibetans celebrate India’s Independence Day PDF Stampa E-mail

DHARAMSHALA, August, 15: Tibetans along with local Indians and foreigners celebrated India's 65th Independence Day in Dharamshala earlier today.

The chief guest, Ajay Singh Mankotia, president of the Dharamshala based Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society and Tenzin Tsundue, president of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Dharamshala hoisted the Indian national flag amidst the heavy down pour while the crowd sang the Indian and the Tibetan national anthems.

As a gesture of friendship and peaceful coexistence of the two cultures, Tibetan school children and local Indians performed traditional songs and dances, celebrating India’s long-fought battle for freedom.
