DHARAMSHALA, October 28 – Chinese authorities in Tibet’s Chamdo prefecture have sealed off Dzakyu Karma Township after a bomb exploded at a government building on Wednesday, sources said. No casualties have been however reported.
The blast comes in the wake of recent protests against China through self-immolation by Tibetans in Ngaba and Kardze. Ten Tibetans have set themselves ablaze in 2011 alone in protest against China.
Kelsang Gyaltsen, a Tibetan MP, said the blast might be a plot to frame false charges against Tibetans. "In 2001, China has done the same. They accused and jailed trulku Tenzin Delek, a high Tibetan religious guru," he said.
The walls of the building had been painted with slogans calling for Tibetan independence and leaflets of political content were also found at the blast site, according to Kelsang. The authorities have also blocked passage to a bridge near the area to monitor movement of people. A prominent monastery in the area, Karma monastery, has also been cordoned off as authorities suspect involvement of the monks in the blast.

DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama today issued a comprehensive declaration on his next incarnation, putting to rest all the questions raised by inquisitive journalists and ulterior motives of the Chinese government authorities about the next Dalai Lama. "When I am about ninety I will consult the high Lamas of the Tibetan Buddhist traditions, the Tibetan public, and other concerned people who follow Tibetan Buddhism, and re-evaluate whether the institution of the Dalai Lama should continue or not. On that basis we will take a decision," His Holiness said in the declaration.

Dharamshala, September 26: In reports coming out of Tibet, two more monks in eastern Tibet set themselves ablaze in an apparent anti-China protest today at around 10 am local time.
While bystanders have told sources in exile that one of the protesting monks died on the spot, the other who has been described as being in critical condition was taken to an undisclosed location by Chinese security personnel.
Today’s fiery sacrifice comes as the fourth incidence in this year alone when China’s repressive policies in Tibet have forced Tibetans to take the drastic step of self-immolation as a non-violent mean to protest China’s rule over Tibet.
